The first thing I think of when I hear the word “Donkeyboy” is that weird half-man, half-horse thing from The Chronicles Of Narnia. As a band name, it really only piques your curiosity to hear what a band called “Donkeyboy” could possibly sound like. Despite the name this young group out of Norway has the foundations to do great things.
They’ve actually been together since 2005. The song “Ambitions” which I am featuring here was released off their 2009 debut album Caught In A Life. But it’s new to me and therefore new to you. And since you can’t get it on US itunes, I am going to assume you have never heard of them either.
First impressions: Fleetwood Mac circa ’82. (About the time Lindsey Buckingham started wearing eyeliner.) Donkeyboy lead male singer Cato Sunderberg actually kind of looks like Buckingham. And we all know how I love my Fleetwood Mac.
Check out “Ambitions” below. Sorry about the ad.

Walder, you should make a complete list of songs that aren’t from the 80s but sound like they are. “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne comes to mind. “Common People” and “Disco 2000″ by Pulp also. “Hurt You” by the Sounds. Oh wait, nevermind… look at these:

It’d take all day for me to listen to these on YouTube, but I know what I’ll do after work.
Wow! Fleetwood Mac there is a blast from the past.
